Former China Daily editor appointed as deputy director of liaison office in HK

China Daily's former deputy editor-in-chief Sun Shangwu has been appointed as deputy director of Beijing's liaison office in Hong Kong.

56-year-old Sun was a senior editor from the official English-language state media outlet.

He was appointed by the State Council, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security issued this afternoon.
