New Dehli blast kills at least 9 people

At least 9 people were killed in India's capital New Dehli when a car exploded in the historic Red Fort.

Just before 7p.m. local time, a blast occured near the gates of the Red Fort Metro Station.

It was reported that a slow-moving vehicle stopped at a red light and an explosion happened inside the vehicle.

Nearby vehicles were also damaged.

More than 20 people were being treated for injuries at a government hospital.

Home Minister Amit Shah said officials are exploring all possibilities and will conduct a thorough investigation.

A number of people have been taken into custody in connection with the blast.
