China's Commerce Ministry says it prefers negotiations over threats but isn't afraid of a tariff war.
This comes after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened a 100 percent tariff and higher taxes on Chinese imports by November 1.
Trump is heading to the Middle East to mark the U.S.-brokered ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas.
He's planning to visit Israel first to meet hostage families, then head to Egypt for a peace summit on Gaza and the Middle East with leaders from over 20 countries. (October 12)
