Flag-raising ceremony in Beijing for National Day

In Beijing, a flag-raising ceremony commemorating National Day took place this morning in Tiananmen Square.

At around 6:00 a.m., a member of the PLA Military Band blew the flag-raising trumpet from the city wall. The Tiananmen Flag Guard marched into the square, watched by a large crowd.

When the national anthem began, the crowd sang along.

As the national flag reached the top of the pole, peace doves were released.
