3 arrested on suspicion of involvement in craft beer scam

The police arrest three people on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud after they allegedly tried to reel residents into a craft beer machine scam involving more than 4 million dollars.

The police arrested a company director, an office manager and a recruiter aged between 46 and 54.

The police's Anti-Deception Coordination Centre discovered a syndicate has been recruiting individuals to invest in a craft beer machine scheme on promises of high returns since last November after uncovering a suspicious, high-valule bank transfer back in July

It was later revealed the craft beer programme was never operational, and the organisation had transferred all investments into their personal securities accounts.

Authorities have currently contacted six victims aged between 55 and 81, who suffered combined losses of more than 4 million dollars.
