Beijing-HK Economic Cooperation Symposium opens in Beijing

Chief Executive John Lee attends the 29th Beijing Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium in Beijing.

There, he says the development of the Northern Metropolis University Town will help strengthen cooperation between Beijing and Hong Kong universities and research institutions in fields such as technology.

This year's theme is "Beijing-Hong Kong Together into the 15th Five Year Plan".

Around 800 representatives of enterprises from both cities attended.

Chief Executive John Lee said Beijing and Hong Kong complement each other's strengths and proposed three major directions for future cooperation covering areas such as enterprise global expansion, technology and finance.

He also noted the government's construction of a university town in the Northern Metropolis will help strengthen educational cooperation between the two cities.
