At least three people have died and five others injured after parts of a volcanic rock formation collapsed in Turkey's tourist destination of Cappadocia on Thursday, prompting an investigation into the incident.
A section of the rock formation, known as a fairy chimney, tumbled near a car park at an entrance in Cappadocia's Goreme region.
Turkish Governor Huseyin Kok stated recent heavy rains likely triggered the collapse during Turkey's Republic Day holiday.
Rescue teams and heavy machinery continued to search the debris for potential trapped survivors, while Justice Minister Akin Gurlek confirmed an investigation was launched into the incident.
