Yemen's Houthi rebels have warned aviation firms and passengers against using Saudi airports and airspace following Saturday's strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres calls for an immediate cessation of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure that violate international law.

In Islamabad, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasised there could be "no justification" for Houthi aggression against the kingdom.

Citing the trilateral Mecca Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement signed with Saudi Arabia and Turkey recently, Sharif expressed Pakistan's complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia as he condemned the latest assault as deeply regrettable and unjustifiable.

He reiterates protecting the sanctity of Medina and Mecca is a "red line" for billions of Muslims worldwide.

Emirati authorities, meanwhile, reaffirm support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security and stability.

The missile attack that hit Riyadh's main airport has claimed 12 lives and injured over 300 people.

Saudis extended the airport's closure and moved schools in the capital city online.

The country's energy ministry says a major energy conference is still going ahead in Riyadh on Sunday.
