A 87-year-old Spanish woman who’s eviction from her long-time home sparked outrage and protests all across the country has died at hospital.
Maria del Carmen Abascal’s eviction has triggered a political shakeup that earlier in the week saw Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez call a snap election for November 25 in hopes of shaking out his far-right opponents who had shot down the Sanchez government’s attempts to implement affordable housing legislation.
