US President Donald Trump said Monday a threat prompted the US to remove bombers from a military air base in England where a suspected terror plot prompted heightened security concerns.
Speaking to reporters as he departed the White House for a campaign stop in Nebraska, Trump said he didn't want to tempt "the enemy" by having Air Force bombers at base in England, prompting the airplanes to be brought home to the U.S.
The bombers had been used to strike Iran and Trump said, "We had a threat" connected to Iran. The return followed an investigation into a planned terror attack at the RAF Fairford base.
"So we moved them around a little bit, not very far," Trump said.
