The Urban Renewal Authority and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University co-organise a competition to develop innovative and feasible renewal plans for old districts.
Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan and Chairman of the Urban Renewal Authority Chow Chung-kong attended the award ceremony.
The event attracted nearly 400 students from 64 secondary schools. They are required to use AI and geographic information to devise community renewal proposals for old areas like Flower Market Road, Peel Street, and Graham Street, with students from Pui Ching Middle School winning the championship.
The organisers hope the competition will guide students to apply social science theories to real-world urban development issues, and inject vitality into old communities.
