As the deadliest Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo's history
continues spreading, the United Nations renew its urgent appeal for immediate
international support, with existing funding for lifesaving work critically low.
UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric says 3 million dollars has been
deployed from the UN Central Emergency Response Fund to help
the Central African Republic with its Ebola prevention efforts following
confirmation of cases in Congonese provinces nearing the border of the CAR.
This as Congo receives its the first batch of Ebola vaccines Friday
as it steps up efforts to contain the ongoing outbreak that has
infected more than 5,000 people and killed over 2,500.
