Hong Kong and Shenzhen have signed a memorandum of understanding at a ceremony held at the Tsim Sha Tsui Science Museum to strengthen coral and marine ecological conservation. Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Cheuk Wing-hing and Legislative Council President Starry Lee were among those who attended the ceremony.

As Hong Kong is formulating its own inaugural five-year plan, the blueprint will set sights on promoting carbon reduction, pollution reduction and green transformation.

In 2023, the central government designated August 15 as National Ecology Day with an aim to enhance public awareness towards environmental protection.

The Hong Kong Wetland Park is open to the public free of charge today, with over 30 NGOs offering relevant activities and special offers.
