The government aims to help with the overseas expansion of mainland agricultural products.

On Friday, the government and the mainland officials signed memoranda of understanding at the Convention and Exhibition Centre. Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan says Hong Kong imports an average of more than 10 billion dollars worth of food from the mainland each year. He says Hong Kong can help those mainland brands expand to the overseas market through branding and confidence.

Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan says "We are also an international financial centre. All the traders and investors can find the financial sources in Hong Kong. And in terms of food trading, Hong Kong adopts a very high standard food safety standard."
