Queen Mary Hospital's Clinical Building 1 has been in operation in phases since November last year, but only a small number of lifts are in use.

The Hospital Authority expects the relevant works to be completed as early as the fourth quarter, which will affect the activation of clinical services.

The building has a total of 28 elevators. Among them, ten are public elevators. Currently, only three are in use, while the rest are cordoned off.

As for the elevator area exclusively used by employees and patients, maintenance notices are also put up.

Only the pathology and hematology department -- and the blood bank have moved in to the new clinical building.

In response to media inquiries, the Hospital Authority and other relevant authorities admit owing to elevator installation and operation not meeting contract requirements, repair works are still ongoing.
