Veteran Hong Kong actor Patrick Tse has died at the age of 89.
Best known for his iconic portrayal of Law Sei-hoi in TV series "The Shell Game" aired in the 80s, Tse was one of the influential figures in Hong Kong's entertainment industry with a career spanning seven decades.
Born Tse Ka-yuk in Guangzhou in 1936, he began his career in films, was already considered a bona-fide star through a string of hit Cantonese movies in the 1960s.
His son Nicholas Tse and daughter Jennifer Tse both announced his passing on their social media page, saying their father died peacefully surrounded by his family.
Jennifer Tse says her father lived a remarkable and accomplished life with his passion, charisma and contributions to Hong Kong cinema having touched generations. Tse received the Hong Kong Film Awards' Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
In 2021, he won Best Actor his performance in the movie "Time."
