Amber Rainstorm Signal cancelled following severe flooding

Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal has been cancelled. But earlier this morning, severe flooding occurred in the northern New Territories.

As of 9:00 AM, authorities had received four reports of flooding, with water depths in Ping Che expected to exceed 300 millimeters. The Drainage Services Department deployed water pumps to stand by in Li Uk Village in Ping Che.

Flooding also occurred on Kam Tin Highway. Vehicles having to wade through the water. Kam Tin Highway towards Lam Kam Highway was temporarily closed, causing traffic congestion.
