PLA vessels open to public at Ngong Shuen Chau

A formation of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, comprising the Nanning and the Hengyang, has opened to the public for today and tomorrow.

The Nanning and Hengyang remain docked at the PLA Hong Kong Garrison's Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks.

Large crowds of residents queued up early in the morning to board and tour the warships. Many came with their entire families, as tour guides explained the vessels' equipment.

The main attraction was the 130mm main gun, where many visitors took photos and "checked in" for memories.

The two warships are open Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM for residents who made advance reservations. A total of 14,000 tickets have been distributed for the event.
