Iran's joint military command warned Thursday that all oil tankers moving through the Strait of Hormuz must use its approved routes or face a "forceful response," ratcheting up tensions again over a waterway crucial for international energy supplies.
United States Vice President J.D. Vance told Laura Ingraham in a Fox News interview Wednesday that President Trump made very clear that if any ships are hit by the Iranians the US will "hit back".
Vance stated he thinks however the negotiations ultimately turn out that the United States is in a great position.
"If the negotiation is successful, which obviously we want it to be successful, you have an Iran that is permanently transformed," said Vance, adding, "That's a great outcome for the American people. It's a good outcome for the whole region."
However, the vice president says that if Iran does not make concessions in the negotiations, the country still has a destroyed nuclear program and their conventional military has also been destroyed.
