High vacancy rate at 11 SKIES prompts concerns

Lawmaker Dominic Lee raises questions about the high vacancy rate of 11 SKIES, noting a number of tenants and amusement facilities originally planned to move in have surrendered their tenancy or deferred opening.

The Transport and Logistics Bureau says the Airport Authority is working with developers to re-plan its positioning, with operations expected to commence in 2028.

In last year's Policy Address, it was proposed to promote the expansion of airport city development SKYTOPIA.

Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan replied to a written inquiry stating the Airport Authority has been actively attracting investment.

She says given the changing behavioural patterns of consumers and visitors in recent years, the Airport Authority is working with developers to plan the future positioning and operational model of the mall, including adding more entertainment and dining elements.

However, she says as relevant assessment involves commercially sensitive information, it is not appropriate to provide more details at this stage.
