Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office Xia Baolong will embark on a two-day visit to Hong Kong tomorrow. He's expected to tap views on how Hong Kong will align itself with the National 15th Five-Year Plan and the development of the Northern Metropolis.
Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office Xia Baolong has visited Hong Kong every year over the past three years, and took a trip to the SAR twice last year.
In February, Xia visited the Lok Ma Chau Loop area and Qianhai, during which he met with several Hong Kong bureau chiefs and principal officials.
In June, his five-day trip included attending the forum marking the fifth anniversary of the implementation of the National Security Law.
He also met with political figures and university representatives.
After this year's two sessions, Xia discussed the alignment of Hong Kong and Macao with the National 15th Five-Year Plan.
He undertook inspection in several Greater Bay Area cities, including the Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and Zhuhai earlier this month.
This time, Xia Baolong's visit to Hong Kong is poised to focus on the development of the Northern Metropolis.
It is understood that he will visit the northern mega project on the first day of his trip here.
The SAR government has just begun public consultations on the Five-Year Plan, which are expected to fall within the scope of Xia Baolong's inspection.
Chief Executive John Lee expresses gratitude to Xia for his continued support for Hong Kong.
