First Northern Metropolis Marathon set for November 1

The Heung Yee Kuk will hold the inaugural Northern Metropolis Marathon on 1 November.

The event includes full marathon, half marathon, 10km, and 1.5km races. The full marathon route starts at the Heung Yee Kuk New Territories Building in Shek Mun,

passes through the Tolo Harbour Promenade, Lam Tsuen River in Tai Po, and the Fanling Bypass,

finishing at Sheung Shui Sports Ground. The half marathon starts at the Science Park.

Online registration for the full marathon and half marathon challenge categories opens from 5pm on Monday,

with other categories opening on Thursday. Entry fees range from HK550, with early bird discounts available.

Heung Yee Kuk Chairman Kenneth Lau stated that in addition to celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Heung Yee Kuk,

the event will also help more citizens learn about the development of the Northern Metropolis.
