King Charles III marks birthday with Trooping of the Colours in London

Fast jets soared above London's Buckingham Palace on Saturday, leaving a trail of red, white and blue smoke, in a culmination of the King Charles III's official birthday celebrations.

Thousands of spectators lined the capital's streets for the annual Trooping of the Colour ceremony.

The parade was attended by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, as well as Catherine, Princess of Wales and her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince William attended the parade on horseback.

Following the spectacle, the King arrived back at Buckingham Palace where he saluted the parade procession as it marched past.

Crowds gathered outside the palace to catch a glimpse of the royal family on the balcony and to watch the flypast.
