Baby Danny gets his HK Birth Certificate

The parents of baby boy Danny initially refused to submit DNA samples to prove their blood ties when the Immigration Department requested them to obtain his birth certificate.

They gave their DNA samples later.

They have now successfully obtained a Birth Certificate for Danny from the Immigration Department.

The couple suspected of neglecting their baby boy were arrested by the police earlier. The baby was sent to a shelter and placed under the care of the Social Welfare Department.

Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun said social workers met with the parents again this morning and will continue to follow up on the care arrangements.

Sun said Danny has been in the shelter for several days and is in good condition, being cared for by professionals.
