A woman is sentenced to four weeks behind bars and fined 2,000 dollars for possessing duty-not-paid cigarettes and failing to declare them to Customs officers.
Customs officers intercepted the 59-year-old woman at the Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point on May 29th.
They seized 981 sticks of duty-not-paid cigarettes under her pants with an estimated market value of about 4,400 dollars, and the duty potential was about 3,200 dollars.
The passenger was subsequently arrested.
