Busy morning at border crossings

The three-day Lunar New Year holiday has begun. The Immigration Department said that as of 10 a.m., there had been 117,000 outbound crossings.

Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan, together with Secretary for Security Chris Tang and other officials, visited the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point in the morning to inspect clearance procedures, crowd management, and order-maintenance arrangements and operations. They also offered New Year’s greetings to on-duty police officers, as well as Immigration and Customs staff. Departments at various control points have reduced frontline staff leave to allow for flexible manpower deployment.
