Ahead of the Lunar New Year, the 12 floats that will appear in the Lunar New Year float parade in Tsim Sha Tsui made their first appearance today.

Floats including those from Cathay Pacific were parked in an open area near the Hung Hom waterfront, where performers rehearsed dances.

To welcome the Year of the Horse, floats from the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Hong Kong Jockey Club and others were decorated with horse-themed decorations.

The parade will begin at 8 pm on the first day of the Lunar New Year on February 17. The floats, along with 46 performance teams, will depart from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, and will pass through Canton Road and Nathan Road, lasting nearly two hours.

After the parade, the floats will appear in locations such as the Kai Tak Sports Park and Lam Tsuen for citizens and tourists to take photos.
