Public transport passengers must wear seatbelts starting from Sunday.

Most passengers on this bus weren't wearing seatbelts. While it's not yet mandatory for passengers to wear seatbelts on public transport, this all changes on Sunday.

Starting from Sunday, residents who fail to buckle up if seatbelts are fitted onto their seats, will face a fine of 5,000 dollars and imprisonment for up to three months.

KMB has put up posters to raise residents' attention about the new rule. The bus company also said drivers can remind passengers who aren't buckled up through announcements.
