Sources: Wong Kwok-ngon, 71, arrested for seditious materials and disclosing probe details

A man arrested by National Security Police is understood to be Wong Kwok-ngon, who is the deputy convenor of the disbanded Civil Human Rights Front.

The 71-year-old is charged with "prejudicing an investigation of offences endangering national security."

Wong was invited to the Mong Kok Police Station to assist with a probe last Tuesday.

He allegedly disclosed some details of the investigations on social media the next day.

The police made the arrest in Sheung Shui on Saturday, for the first time invokinig Section 88 of the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance.

Meanwhile, Wong is also accused of posting seditious content.

Each of the two counts is subject to seven years imprisonment.

The West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts will hear the case on Tuesday.
